Psychiatric Assistance Dog Training

mindDog assists mental health sufferers to procure, train and certify psychiatric assistance dogs. These dogs assist people with mental health disorders whose lives are often severely compromised by anxiety and fear. With their mindDog they are able to travel on public transport, access public places and take part in social activities which have been closed off to them.

My role as an Assessor and Trainer for mindDog Australia is to guide clients through the mindDog process and to continue to support clients throughout their journey. Taking into consideration each individuals abilities and their dogs capabilities, I work with clients at an appropriate pace to set each team up for success. I work along side each team to help them reach their goal of achieving an accredited assistance dog.

Training an assistance dog with support from myself and the mindDog team should be wonderful experience. However, the entire assistance dog training process can still pose certain challenges. Therefore, before applying to enter the mindDog program ensure you visit mindDog's website. Here you will find all of the information you need to decide if this is the right programme for you and your dog. However, If you feel you need more information regarding assistance dog training, or would just like a more personal introduction to mindDog, feel free to send me an email, or call me on the contact number listed on my home page.
